May 28 – A day of discovery

While figuring out what to do yesterday, we walked over to another Parks Canada campground and found the above view of Alma.

The campground also had different types of cabins and yurts to rent. We wanted to rent this one but found it was already reserved by George Jetson, his daughter Judy, and Jane his wife.

We next went to a trailhead that started here at this covered bridge. This was the site of a sawmill that was in operation for 100 years.

The trail followed a ridge that looked down into a bay where the milled lumber was sent far and wide.

They even built schooners on that gravel bar in the bay.

This is more of the fishing and lobster boats on the bay bottom when the tide is out.

Chowing down on some chowder. We also had Poutine which is French fries with cheese curds and gravy. Not so much.

We had a nice view from our table. There were as many as 6 of these humdingers there at once.
