May 26, 2026 – Trip to Hopewell Rocks
Yesterday was almost 2” of rain but today broke sunny and warm (70°).
We exchanged some currency and found out all Canadian paper money is very pretty with clear spots to prevent forgery. Dollars are only coins.

Then we went to Hopewell Rocks in the Bay of Fundy and walked the trail and about 5 stories of stairs to the beach at low tide.

It’s pretty spectacular.

The tide is the highest in the world. It can rise over 30 ft. This is low tide.

The water is milky red from the clay. It’s hard to tell the water from the bay bottom when tide is out. Really big mud flats but very pretty.

Someone had some skill and patience for this.
Again we felt like we were the only ones there and we seem to be ahead of the crowds by a couple weeks. The ranger said in the summer as many as 5,000 people a day come here. I doubt there were 50 today.
Probably a hike and bike ride tomorrow
