May 23, 2026 – Bar Harbor, ME

We decided to spend our last day in Maine enjoying the town of Bar Harbor. We had heard about the Shore Path from a couple we met the day before. So we added that to our “to-do” list for the day. There were some large houses looking out on the water, but mostly hidden by well planted shrubs. Nevertheless, the walk was enjoyable with a lot of people watching, and perfect weather, sunny, mid 60s with a gentle breeze.

We came across this rock on the beach area. If you read my blog from last year, you’ll be able to guess what happens next.

He can’t help himself.

Unfortunately, it didn’t budge.

But the hard work made for a powerful hunger, and besides, there was a cute outdoor restaurant along the ocean front.

Another lobster roll

And Lobster Cobb Salad.

Town consists of A LOT of t-shirt shops. But we did come across something a little out of the ordinary

Not sure, but I think that was parked in front of a shoe store.

There was an Art Fair in the park, but nothing we needed, mostly crafts. We did however, discover the top rated ice cream shop was right across from the park. The line out the door was a give away.

We stopped for ice cream after church and sat to enjoy it on a low wall that surrounded the park. No sooner did we sit than a man with a trombone came up and sat beside me. And along came two of his friends, Mr. Trumpet and Mr. Tuba. A small crowd began to form as they played upbeat music. It was fun.

Back to camp and a campfire for us.

Full day of driving to Canontown Campground in New Brunswick, Canada on Sunday.
